Welcome to Hand to Heart! My name is Marni Purnell, RN, MSN and I specialize in end-of-life doula support, using compassion and empathetic understanding to bring personalized support to each client.  

I attended Jacksonville University and received a Master of Science in Nursing. I later became an End-of-Life Doula, Reiki Master and Ordained Minister. 

I have been working with patients and their families as a Hospice Registered Nurse and caregiver to those in my community. Helping clients and their loved ones through difficult times can be challenging but is also deeply rewarding.  I have dealt with multiple losses over the course of my life and I know the feeling of wanting to be heard and wishing there was someone who understood the pain. I know how to deal with and process oncoming death, whether it be an existing terminal diagnosis or sudden illness, as well as the most productive ways to help loved ones heal. My personal experience as well as my experience working in healthcare has led me to establish this practice as an advocate. 

 I understand that the end-of-life process is confusing and stressful, and I am happy to answer any questions or provide additional resources on Life Planning and End of Life Doula support services. It is also important to understand how to communicate effectively with doctors and nursing staff as well as other family members.
